Project Overview
Even the classics can use an occasional refresh. The Color Purple, a Black-American classic in literature and film, was originally released in 1982 with a cover similar to other book covers of that era. The book has been redesigned multiple times since, but they have never incorporated handmade elements that hint to a symbol from the novel.
Contributions
Simone hand embroidered three different flower designs, photographed them, and arranged them in Adobe Photoshop. Typography was added using Adobe Indesign.
